https://vimeo.com/86461170 On February 5th, 2014, the city of Seattle shut down to celebrate the Seahawks first Super Bowl Championship in franchise history. Estimates of the crowd sized ranged anywhere from 300,000 up to 700,000...all I know is that is was a sea of humanity in Seattle that I'd never seen before. It was incredible, just incredible. And cold.

The timelapse of the parade was shot from the Yesler overpass above 4th Ave. I arrived at this spot at 7am and started shooting right away while the streets were empty. Not many people were on the overpass at this point either, so it gave me a chance to stake out a spot for my tripod up against the railing. With the parade scheduled to start at 11am, the sidewalks began to fill up around 9am until 4th Ave finally closed to traffic. At that point the streets were flooded with elated Seahawks fans, anxious to see the team roll by.

As a guest photographer for the Seahawks, I had a few specific photos that I was trying to capture from this spot. It was the only overpass vantage point along the 4th Ave parade route, so I knew this perspective was going to be unique. Here's the photo I was after:
